wifi draws ’em in
Free WiFi is more popular among customers of small businesses than traditional offerings such as magazines, water, and candy, according to a recent survey. Bredin Research and Comcast Business asked small business IT decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and small operations like stores, coffee shops, and doctor’s offices what conveniences are most sought-after by visitors.
About 80 percent of respondents said WiFi makes customers happy. Two-thirds said wireless brought in repeat business, and 55 percent said it brought in new clientele.
Businesses that expected more revenue in the future (64 percent) were more likely to promote their WiFi offerings, versus 38 percent of businesses that expected lower revenues.
About 60 percent of small operations that don’t currently offer WiFi plan to do so in the future, or would consider it.
