The State of Small Business
Almost 90 percent of small business owners said personal relationships affect the way they run their business. About 67 percent said the actions of their peers influence them, and just over half said their fellow small business owners shape their actions.
The research came from a new report by the National Association of Women Business Owners and Chase Manhattan.
While no one discounts the value of mentorship, only 51 percent of business owners said they were influenced by mentors. Maybe it’s because business owners are more focused on growth. About 57 percent said they planned a geographical expansion this year, 61 percent wanted to increase marketing, and 56 percent plan to invest in social media development.
